Sunday Morning Program PRE-SCHOOL / KINDERGARTEN EXPERIENCE

Preschool/Kindergarten meets on Sunday morning during the 11:00am Mass over at Assumption BVM School, Belmont.

The children complete a creative "hands-on" activity to help achieve the goals and objective of that particular week. Parents can use these activities as a "spring board" to help explain our faith.

The Assumption Religious Education program acknowledges the important role of parents in properly forming the children in their faith development. Each week there is a Family Time section that summarizes the lesson, offers advice for imparting values to the child, and suggests family activities that reinforce the lesson.

MORE INFO... This Christ Our Life kindergarten program is designed "to open children to God's love through a discovery of the many good things he has placed in their world. God Loves Us utilizes children's natural characteristics and human experiences to lead them to an awareness of God's goodness and presence in their everyday lives. They reflect on God's goodness in creation, in the wonder of their own unique selves, and in the love of the people around them.

A simple introduction to the mysteries of faith expressed in the Apostles' Creed is presented to help children grow in understanding and appreciation of God's love for them. They are helped to see themselves as belonging to the Catholic community and are encouraged to make Catholic beliefs and tradition their own. They are led to respond spontaneously and intimately to God in personal prayer and in celebration with others. They are also inspired to express love for God and one another." Christ Our Life Teachers Manual" pg. xxxix,, 1999.
